David Ross, often referred to as Mr. Sexpo, conceived and launched Sexpo in Australia, in 1996, before exporting the event to South Africa in 2007, and then London in 2015.

Sexpo Australia was then sold to Australian Exhibition Group Pty. Ltd. (AEG) in 2019; therefore, David was not involved in the 2024 liquidation of AEG.

After AEG announced on 23/09/24 that it was indefinitely postponing all future events and went into liquidation, David began planning to revive the event he launched in 1996.

David says, “the new operators strayed from the original concept of producing female friendly events that are inclusive, a place for fun and celebration, events that showcase more than just sex-related content, where visitors can happily celebrate their sexuality without fear or judgement.

“Now that we have the new (old) management team in place, Sexpo will return to its original format which saw up to 68,000 people attend the original events,” he said.

David remains committed to providing a safe space for the exploration and celebration of healthy adult lifestyles, bringing much expertise and experience to Sexpo that will see him continue his legacy of creating engaging and inclusive events.
